Plan essential custodial and restroom supplies
School operations teams need recurring consumables that match existing equipment, fit storage capacity, and support a consistent replenishment schedule.
Start with daily-use consumables
Restroom tissue, paper towels, hand soap, trash liners, surface-cleaning products and other janitorial supplies are frequent replenishment items. Estimate usage by building, restroom group, and cleaning area rather than combining everything into a single school-wide figure.
Where several schools use the same dispensers or liner sizes, a district-wide item list can reduce confusion when supplies are transferred between buildings.
Confirm dispenser and container compatibility
Paper roll diameter, core size, fold type, sheet size, soap cartridge format, trash liner dimensions and capacity all affect suitability. A lower-priced carton can be a poor choice if the product does not fit existing dispensers or containers.
Keep dispenser model numbers and preferred product specifications on the purchase list. Verify manufacturer guidance for any concentrated product, cleaning chemical, or replacement part.
Don't rely on carton prices alone
For restroom tissue and towels, compare usable sheets, rolls, dimensions, and total product quantity per case. For liners, compare dimensions, material, thickness or strength specification, and quantity per case. Product packaging changes can make year-over-year comparisons misleading.
Safety and chemical handling
Follow product label instructions, applicable safety data sheets, district chemical handling policies, and storage requirements. Select only products approved for your intended use; this website does not provide chemical mixing or safety instructions.
Build a repeatable supply list
- Group supplies by building and area.
- List equipment or dispenser compatibility specifications.
- Record case quantities and typical monthly usage.
- Set an on-hand minimum to trigger reorders.
- Review delivery needs for heavy, oversized or freight-class items.
