DELIVERY & RECEIVING

How to check school supply deliveries

A clear receiving routine helps identify missing cartons, quantity mismatches, or damaged products early, particularly when one order ships in multiple packages.

Before deliveries arrive

Identify the person or department responsible for receiving, the expected delivery location, and the related quote, PO or order number. If your school has limited receiving hours or special building-access instructions, confirm those arrangements through the normal ordering process.

When a shipment arrives

  1. Record the delivery date, carrier, tracking or shipment reference, and receiving staff member.
  2. Inspect the exterior packaging for visible damage before opening.
  3. Compare the packing slip and received contents to the specific shipment or order.
  4. Check product identifiers, units of measure and counted quantities.
  5. Document shortages, incorrect products or damage promptly and retain relevant packaging.
  6. Update inventory and notify the purchasing contact of any exceptions.

When one order arrives in separate packages

BulkSupply.com fulfills products through a network of regional distribution centers, so orders can arrive in more than one package and sometimes on different days. Keep a receiving record by shipment and avoid marking the full order complete until all expected items have been accounted for.

Reporting problems

Under BulkSupply.com's published policy, damaged, defective, or short-shipped merchandise must be reported within 72 hours of delivery. Keep the product, packaging and shipping materials pending instructions. For full terms, see Shipping & Returns.
